I'M SORRY SARAH (LAMENT FOR SARAH PALIN) BY ALLEN BALL

BallPoint: Samuel James Ervin, Jr. -- by Allen Ball

Accept whatever your mind finds to be true; and whatever your conscience determines to be right, and whatever your heart declares to be noble, even though your act in doing so may drive a hoary prejudice from its throne. And, above all things, meditate often upon the words and deeds of Him who died on Calvary for, by so doing, ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
-- Senator Sam Ervin, Jr.

Senator Sam Ervin, Jr. is one of my all-time favorite people. I loved his folksy manner; I admired his knowledge of the bible; I loved his storytelling; I admired his brilliance, but most of all, I admired his integrity.

In 1732, a band of Scotch-Irish settlers migrated from Ulster to Belfast and finally to the coast of South Carolina to escape the religious persecution of the King of England. Among them was James Ervin, who settled in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. In 1776, he died leaving a son, John, who owned a plantation and twenty-nine slaves.

John Witherspoon Ervin, teacher, newspaper publisher, and poet, gave up writing after the Civil War, accepting an offer to teach in Morganton, North Carolina, in 1874. His, Samuel James Ervin, took the North Carolina bar exam, in 1878, and later became one of the states most prominent lawyers.

In 1886, Samuel Ervin married Laura Theresa Powe. She bore ten children: Lauta, 1888; Catharine, 1890; Margaret, 1892; Edward, 1894; Sam, 1896; Hugh, 1898; Joseph, 1901, Eunice, 1903; John, 1906; and Jean, 1909.

Samuel James Ervin, Jr. was a Representative and a Senator from North Carolina. He was born in Morganton, Burke County, N.C., September 27, 1896, in Morganton, shortly before William McKinley, a Scotch-Irishman, from Canton, Ohio, defeated William Jennings Bryan for the Presidency. As a young boy his favorite pastime was playing baseball and playing marbles. He attended his first year of public school in 1903. He was an above-average student, excelling in history and reading, but he disliked science and math. An omnivorous reader, Ervin was taught by his grandfather to read at the age of four. "I don't remember so much his teaching, but when I didn't learn right quick he'd thump me on the head with his finger and say, 'Mighty thick, mighty thick.' That's the only conversation I recall having with him." His father had a sizable home library, including works by Shakespeare, Dickens, Scott, and Kipling. Years later, as Senator, Sam, Jr. estimated his own library to contain 25,000-35,000 books.

Like most boys, Sam was not immune to mischief. "I used to have to answer the roll call every morning with a quotation from the scriptures. On one occasion I had just looked through the Bible and I found a verse that said, 'I have more understanding than all my teachers.' Of course, the class was hilarious. And the teacher kept me in, said there was no such verse in the Bible. And I showed it to him. I've forgotten where it is now. I think it's in King Solomon that said that. I pointed it out to him, and he said, 'Well, you didn't say it in the right spirit of reverence'"

Tragedy struck the Ervin family on several occasions. Edward suffered a bad case of whooping cough when he was a child and then developed an agonizing asthmatic condition, spending his nights sitting in a straight chair. He died when he was 39.

Margaret, four years older than Sam, died of tuberculosis when she was 19. Before it was diagnosed she lost one lung and was not expected to recover. She spent her final days in her bedroom where only her mother was permitted to see her.

Catharine contracted Hodgkin's disease and died when she was 50.

Surely, the most tragic of all was the suffering and extraordinary treatment Joseph endured, resulting from a fall from a tree in the family apple orchard, at the age of 6. Joseph developed osteomyelitis, a painful inflammation of the bone marrow. Before the discovery of "wonder" drugs, one of the treatments of osteomyelitis involved planting maggots, worm-like insects, near the infected bone, place a small cage over the incision so the maggots could not escape, and leave them there to eat away at the diseased bone tissues. It worked, at least provisionally, but it was a horrible, disgusting experience for the patient.

Ervin went to see his brother one day at the hospital and Joe confided in him: "This is the greatest agony I've ever undergone; feeling a live maggot wandering around inside my body. I don't know how I can stand it much longer." He committed suicide at the height of a promising political career. He had endured a series of operations, spending time in between on crutches. "He took the notion that his osteomyelitis was coming back on him and it was just too much for him."

A northerner, Carey E. Gregory, seeking a healthier climate, settled in western North Carolina. Prior to Sam's departure for college he told him, "There's no royal road to learning.: Sam may have taken the comment to heart, as indicated by an excerpt from Paul R. Clancy's "Just a Country Lawyer":
"To those who did not know young Sam well, he frequently seemed to be going through life in a fog. He had the ability, even then, to crawl inside his mind and hide. He was collecting, storing, sorting out, and valuating knowledge. And, in so doing, he could shut out the rest of the world. Friends and family could go into his room where he was studying, even dust around his feet, and he wouldn't know it"

"There were always lots of books in that family. You read books and you developed yourself."

"Before leaving for Chapel Hill, the studious remote young man walked his sister Eunice to school on her first day in the first grade. He read a book all the way."
Sam extolled the virtues of reading when he addressed the class of '73, on October 12, at the Memorial Auditorium at the University of North Carolina:
"Let books be your friends, for by so doing you summon to your fireside in seasons of loneliness the choice spirits of all the ages. Observe mankind through the eyes of clarity, for, by so doing, you will discover anew the oft forgotten fact that earth is peopled with many gallant souls. Study nature, and walk at times in solitude beneath the starry heavens, for, by so doing, you will absorb the great lesson that God is infinite and that your life is just a little beat within the heart of time. Cling to the ancient landmark of truth, but be ready to test the soundness of a new idea.

In 1913, Ervin entered the freshman class, of only 200 students, at the University of North Carolina, graduating, in 1917. Thomas Wolfe, from Asheville was two years behind Ervin at Chapel Hill. They met through Sigma Upsilon, the campus literary society. Ervin made the observation that Wolfe was "normally a very taciturn person, but when he got with some friends he could speak almost as fluently as he wrote."

After serving in France in the First World War, with the First Division (1917-1919), Ervin was admitted to the bar in 1919 and commenced practice in Morganton, in 1922, after graduating from Harvard University law school , the same year. He became a member of the North Carolina general assembly (1923, 1925, 1931); judge of the Burke County criminal court (1935-1937); judge of the North Carolina superior court (1937-1943); elected on January 22, 1946, as a Democrat to the Seventy-ninth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of his brother, Joseph W. Ervin, and served from January 22, 1946, to January 3, 1947. Choosing not to run for re-nomination in 1946; Sam resumed the practice of law; and was associate justice of the North Carolina supreme court 1948-1954; appointed on June 5, 1954.

On November 2, 1954, Ervin was elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy brought about by the death of Clyde R. Hoey, for the term ending January 3, 1957. Re-elected in 1956, 1962, and again in 1968 and served until his resignation December 31,1974. "I've seen too many Senators remain there too long," he once said.

In addition to being well-read and having a prodigious memory, Senator Ervin was an unbending moralist who possessed a rapier wit, often quoting Biblical scripture. On President Gerald R. Ford's pardon of Richard M. Nixon, he said: "The pardon power of the president of the United States is greater than the pardon power of the Almighty. The Almighty, according to religious teachings, can't pardon a poor sinner for his sins, unless the poor sinner first confesses his sins." He counseled his peers with the admonition: " The Constitution and the Bible are suggested readings for public officials."

Ervin chaired the Committee on Government Operations (Ninety-second and Ninety-third Congresses), and the Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities (Ninety-third Congress). Resuming the practice of law, after retirement, Sam engaged in literary pursuits in Morganton, N.C., continuing to work an 8-hour day because "I prefer to wear out rather than rust out."

Senator Sam, as he was referred to affectionately, was an avuncular figure--he was a Bible scholar, an intellectual, and a warm-spirited gentleman. He possessed a gift of story-telling, His down-home, down-to-earth manner endeared him to, not only North Carolinians, but to the nation, as exemplified by his folksy demeanor when asked to head the Senate Watergate Committee investigation. "This self-proclaimed country lawyer with the bottomless barrel of aphorisms from Shakespeare, the Bible, and the North Carolina mountains, became a national symbol of decency and fairness in politics, the embodiment for many of wisdom, a genuine American folk hero."

Senator Sam Ervin, Jr. died in Winston-Salem, N.C., on April 23, 1985. He was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Morganton, N.C.

TRUE, FUNNY, KINSTON, N.C. STORIES~VOL. 1

My dad told me this true story that took place in the Forties...

My dad, Allen James “Jay” Ball, was in Lovick’s Cafe, in Kinston,N.C., sitting at the front counter. A man walked in and sat down close to my dad at the counter. The man behind the counter said: “Can I help you? The man replied, gruffly: “Give me a sandwich.” The man behind the counter said: “What kind of sandwich?” The man replied: “I don’t care--just fix me a sandwich.” So the guy fixed him a sandwich. When he placed it on the counter, the customer said, rudely: “I don’t want that sandwich.”

All the while this conversation was taking place, my dad was taking it in. He interrupted saying: “You ordered that sandwich now you eat it.” The man said: “Whata ya mean?” My dad, pretty upset by the man’s rude behavior said: “I said, you told the man that you wanted a sandwich and you didn’t care what kind of sandwich, so now; you eat it!”

The man, figuring my dad was serious, picked up his sandwich, moving further down the counter next to another man. He looked at the guy, sitting there quietly, and said: “I’m gonna have ta whip his a-- before I leave here.” The man said calmly: “You mean that man right there?” nodding towards my dad. The troublemaker said: “Yeah.” The quiet onlooker hauled off, and without any warning, punched the guy right in the face, knocking him onto the floor of Lovick’s Cafe.

The man didn’t know it, but the guy he’d been grumbling to, about my dad, saying he was going to have to “whip his a--”--was my dad’s brother--my Uncle “D.J.”

“THE LORD TOLD ME…”
At a church service, in Kinston, North Carolina, in the ‘70s, a prominent church member stood up, announcing to the preacher and the congregation, The Lord told me that the church needs to pray for brother “so-and-so.” A lady quickly spoke up, saying to the prominent church member: “Brother “so-and-so” is dead.”

THE TWO LADIES WITH HARRY
Wanting to acknowledge visitors at his church, in Kinston, North Carolina, the preacher addressed them saying: “Will the two ladies with Harry Butz please stand up?”

SARAH PALIN: THE WRATH OF FAR-LEFT LIBERALS

I've never, in my lifetime, seen anyone treated as cruelly as Sarah Palin, in America. The fact that Palin is an evangelical Christian, an accomplished public servant, a good mother, and good wife, makes the hatred of her critics all the more horrific, shameful, and perplexing. The America I grew up in, in the 1950s and 1960s, no longer exists. Common sense, integrity, and morality are no longer popular concepts among many Americans.

When I was a boy, It was not okay for a young girl to lift her t-shirt to partially expose her breasts on national TV. It was not okay for a President of the U.S. to behave like a dictator.

Hollywood is mad, as in certifiable. From a headline: May 17, 2010 | 1:06 PM ET
Woody Allen says President Obama should be granted dictatorial powers (seriously)! Once, there was no more ardent fan of Woody Allen than I, but then some of his movies became sexually deviant. Then he took nude photos of his lover, Mia Farrow's, adopted daughter and subsequently married her. The lack of integrity in Hollywood is surpassed only by its narcissism and inflated sense of self-importance and relevance.

We are travelling down a dangerous road my friends. A nation so divided cannot long reign as a super power. A nation with no moral absolutes is destined to wind up on the trash heap of former nations of glory and power.

BEACH MUSIC LEGEND, JACKIE GORE, TO SING MY SONG, PRODUCED BY BEACH LEGEND, JOHNNY BARKER

I was born in Kinston, North Carolina, on April 19, 1948. My family and many of my relatives lived on French Lane, where many of the poorest white folk of Kinston lived.

My grandparents, Vaden and Addie Powell were devout Christians. They out-lived four of their ten children.

Dad, Allen James Ball, aka "Jay" and "AJ", moved our family from Kinston, in 1955, to Greenville, N.C. We lived there for only a few months, moving to Washington, N.C., where we lived until 1972. In 1972, we moved back to Kinston.

I played in junior and high school band, in Washington; and started playing in my Dad's band, at Whichard's Beach, when I was 13-years old. I volunteered to join the army, on September 12, 1966, at Ft. Bragg, upon graduation.

I attended Little Creek Naval School of Music, in Norfolk, Virginia, from November 1966, until May 1967. I was then stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C., with the 440th Army Band. There, I played in the 440th jazz band as well. The jazz ensemble toured eastern North Carolina, playing in high schools, including my alma mater, Washington, N.C. My tour of duty ended on September 11, 1969, after which I enrolled at East Carolina University, in Greenville, N.C., December 1969.

I've struggled since then to become a successful songwriter, working as a professional musician since 1971.

After an unremarkable nine-month stint as a college student, ( I didn't take algebra, algebra took me!)I dropped out of college to manage, and perform in, a 7-piece, variety music band.

Since my Mother became plagued by seizures, in 2004, and later cancer, in 2009, I've been full-time care giver for my Mom, and my Dad, (Dad died on July 10, 2008), in Britthaven of Snow Hill nursing home, at age 86.

Mama just turned 83 on May 14, 2010. On June 10, 2009, a Kinston oncologiist, from India, prophesied my mother's death, saying she had "six months to live." The prophesy was delivered in a startling, cold, unsympathetic manner. The oncologist never once smiled during his meeting with my Mom, my brother, and me.

Thoroughly disgusted with "smiling-boy," I found oncologist Dr. James N. Atkins, of Goldsboro, N.C. He's a wonderful doctor, greatly admired by everyone who's had the fortune to know him or be treated by him. He bears a remarkable resemblance to Dr. House, on the TV series of the same name. The similarities end there. He's a gifted professional who, along with superb treatment, offers hope to his patients, as much as is reasonable and realistic.

Jackie Gore is well-known in the field of beach music and music styles beyond. He's an exemplary performer, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Jackie is recording a beach music song of mine, "Cuddle Up". Johnny Barker, superb keyboardist, singer, songwriter, and producer, is producing the song. Jackie wrote the beach music anthem "I Love Beach Music". Johnny wrote the beach music classic "Summertime's Calling Me". I'm looking forward, with much anticipation, to hearing the song, which I've placed in such capable hands. Despite the fact that they, like me, are musicians and ne'er-do-wells, they are gentlemen and just plain, good ol', North Carolina boys. They remind me of the guy who said: "I put my pants on, one leg at a time, like everyone else. The only difference is: I write hit songs".

My home recording of "Cuddle Up" has, as of today, Friday, May 21, 2010, amassed 25, 267 views, since August 21, 2009 {A lot for an unknown artist with a poorly recorded, home-recorded demo}.

Jackie and Johnny are part of the new beach music group, Legends of Beach. You can find their videos on youtube. You can find my videos on youtube, as well, at the URLs below:

We C Thru U Mr. Obama

We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. --BARACK OBAMA --[my emphasis --Allen Ball]

From the moment the organizer enters a community he lives, dreams... only one thing and that is to build the mass power base of what he calls the army. Until he has developed that mass power base, he confronts no major issues.... Until he has those means and power instruments, his 'tactics' are very different from power tactics. Therefore, every move revolves around one central point: how many recruits will this bring into the organization, whether by means of local organizations, churches, service groups, labor Unions, corner gangs, or as individuals. --Communist/Marxist SAUL ALINSKY, Rules For Radicals
--[my emphasis]

*****

Too bad most people are still at work or on their way home from work as Glenn Beck is exposing the Machiavellian machinations of the current White House administration--- every day of the week on Fox News Network. So many people I talk to don’t know the following:

1.
Obama hired at least one self-avowed communist to work for him as a czar.
2.
Every czar in Obama’s employ, it appears, is a radical and a socialist.
3.
The entire Obama administration, it appears, is composed of ardent devotees of
Communist/Marxist Saul Alinsky and mass murderer, Mao Zedong.

I’m doing my part to spread the word about this sad and dangerous state of affairs.

Saul Alinsky developed and wrote Rules For Radicals, a book describing a methodology he designed for radicals, to employ, to collapse America, in order that it might be rebuilt to the satisfaction of atheists, in general, members of the A.C.L.U., the CNN Network, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, Chris Matthews, Hollywood, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, and David Letterman.

I’ve collected a series of quotes and excerpts below, from various sources, that shed much light on the mindset of Saul Alinsky and his followers. I hope you find the information as disturbing and frightening as I found it to be. If so, maybe then you’ll do your best to spread the word.

*****

Born to Russian-Jewish parents in Chicago in 1909, Saul Alinsky was a Communist/Marxist fellow-traveler who helped establish the dual political tactics of confrontation and infiltration that characterized the 1960s and have remained central to all subsequent revolutionary movements in the United States. He never joined the Communist Party but instead, as David Horowitz puts it, became an avatar of the post-modern left. --JOHN PERAZZO

When I worked at Nevada Policy Institute in Nevada several years ago, the Post-election analysis of the 1998 election uncovered the fact that family pets received absentee ballots in crucial districts. Dead people were counted as well.

Democratic Senator Harry Reid's slim, 428-vote win against Republican John Ensign raised eyebrows and the juices of some who understand how the modern DNC and its phalanx of wheelers and dealers, lawyers and opportunists really work.

A part of the tactic includes breaking the law when you can and where you can get away with it. Remember, in the minds of the hijacked Democratic Party the ends do indeed justify the Luciferian means. --DIANE ALDEN (Jan. 7, 2003),
graduate of the University of Minnesota with degrees in political science, economics and history.

Marxist radicals of Alinsky's era denounced Alinsky, but that was because of Alinsky's tactics, not his end goals. The following is from a 1972 interview of Alinsky in Playboy discussing why Alinsky always sought limited goals and incremental progress towards a Marxist utopia rather than a total and immediate revolution such as occurred in Russia and China:
PLAYBOY: Spokesmen for the New Left contend that this process of accommodation renders piecemeal reforms meaningless, and that the overthrow and replacement of the system itself is the only means of ensuring meaningful social progress. How would you answer them?

ALINSKY: That kind of rhetoric explains why there's nothing left of the New Left. It would be great if the whole system would just disappear overnight, but it won't, and the kids on the New Left sure as hell aren't going to overthrow it. Shit, Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin couldn't organize a successful luncheon, much less a revolution. I can sympathize with the impatience and pessimism of a lot of kids, but they've got to remember that real revolution is a long, hard process. Radicals in the United States don't have the strength to confront a local police force in armed struggle, much less the Army, Navy and Air Force; it's just idiocy for the Panthers to talk about all power growing from the barrel of a gun when the other side has all the guns.

America isn't Russia in 1917 or China in 1946, and any violent head-on collision with the power structure will only ensure the mass suicide of the left and the probable triumph of domestic fascism. So you're not going to get instant nirvana -- or any nirvana, for that matter -- and you've got to ask yourself, "Short of that, what the hell can I do?" The only answer is to build up local power bases that can merge into a national power movement that will ultimately realize your goals. That takes time and hard work and all the tedium connected with hard work, which turns off a lot of today's rhetorical radicals. But it's the only alternative to the continuation of the present system. . . .

The following profile was written by John Perazzo in April 2008. Perazzo is the Managing Editor of DiscoverTheNetworks and the author of The Myths That Divide Us: How Lies Have Poisoned American Race Relations.

[my emphasis]

After completing his graduate work in criminology, Alinsky went on to develop what are known today as the Alinsky concepts of mass organization for power. In the late 1930s he earned a reputation as a master organizer of the poor when he organized the "Back of the Yards" area in Chicago….

In the Alinsky model, "organizing" is a euphemism for "revolution" -- a wholesale revolution whose ultimate objective is the systematic acquisition of power by a purportedly oppressed segment of the population, and the radical transformation of America's social and economic structure. The goal is to foment enough public discontent, moral confusion, and outright chaos to spark the social upheaval that Marx, Engels, and Lenin predicted -- a revolution whose foot soldiers view the status quo as fatally flawed and wholly unworthy of salvation. Thus, the theory goes, the people will settle for nothing less than that status quo's complete collapse -- to be followed by the erection of an entirely new system upon its ruins. Toward that end, they will be apt to follow the lead of charismatic radical organizers who project an aura of confidence and vision, and who profess to clearly understand what types of societal "changes" are needed.

As Alinsky put it: "A reformation means that the masses of our people have reached the point of disillusionment with past ways and values. They don't know what will work but they do know that the prevailing system is self-defeating, frustrating, and hopeless. They won't act for change but won't strongly oppose those who do. The time is then ripe for revolution."

"[W]e are concerned," Alinsky elaborated, "with how to create mass organizations to seize power and give it to the people; to realize the democratic dream of equality, justice, peace, cooperation, equal and full opportunities for education, full and useful employment, health, and the creation of those circumstances in which men have the chance to live by the values that give meaning to life. We are talking about a mass power organization which will change the world … This means revolution."

But Alinsky's brand of revolution was not characterized by dramatic, sweeping, overnight transformations of social institutions. As Richard Poe puts it, "Alinsky viewed revolution as a slow, patient process. The trick was to penetrate existing institutions such as churches, unions and political parties." He advised organizers and their disciples to quietly, subtly gain influence within the decision-making ranks of these institutions, and to introduce changes from that platform. This was precisely the tactic of "infiltration" advocated by Lenin and Stalin.

Alarmingly, much of what Obama is doing to our country fit’s the profile of what was advocated and promoted by Saul Alinsky, in Rules For Radicals, to bring America to her knees. The problem we face, as Americans determined to disallow the overthrow of America, is to educate the millions of Americans who are still walking about in the darkness of ignorance concerning the existential threat Obama poses to the United States.

I risk being branded an alarmist by some. A single voice cried out to warn the world of the intentions of Adolph Hitler, in the twentieth century. That voice was the voice of the man who was credited for being greatly responsible for having saved the world from Nazi world domination. The man was Winston Spencer Churchill, one of my favorite heroes.

Please check out the videos I have provided for you this week and please forward them to friends and family members. We must stand together to save America.

QUOTES

"Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father's model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday." --Letter from L. DAVID ALINSKY, son of Neo-Marxist Saul Alinsky

"Obama is also an Alinskyite.... Obama spent years teaching workshops on the Alinsky method. In 1985 he began a four-year stint as a community organizer in Chicago, working for an Alinskyite group called the Developing Communities Project.... Camouflage is key to Alinsky-style organizing. While trying to build coalitions of black churches in Chicago, Obama caught flak for not attending church himself. He became an instant churchgoer." --By RICHARD POE, 11-27-07)

“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history... the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.” --SAUL ALINSKY

"From the moment the organizer enters a community he lives, dreams... only one thing and that is to build the mass power base of what he calls the army. (my emphasis) Until he has developed that mass power base, he confronts no major issues.... Until he has those means and power instruments, his 'tactics' are very different from power tactics. Therefore, every move revolves around one central point: how many recruits will this bring into the organization, whether by means of local organizations, churches, service groups, labor Unions, corner gangs, or as individuals."

In this book [RULES FOR RADICALS] we are concerned with how to create mass organizations to seize power and give it to the people; to realize the democratic dream of equality, justice, peace.... "Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.' This means revolution." --SAUL ALINSKY

“Alinsky's tactics were based, not on Stalin's revolutionary violence, but on the Neo-Marxist strategies of Antonio Gramsci, an Italian Communist. Relying on gradualism, infiltration and the dialectic process rather than a bloody revolution, Gramsci's transformational Marxism was so subtle that few even noticed the deliberate changes.”
--Notes from an article by Phyllis Schalfly titled "Alinsky's Rules: Must Reading In Obama Era," posted at www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=318470857908277 (2-2-09)

"'The organizer's first job is to create the issues or problems,' and 'organizations must be based on many issues.' The organizer 'must first rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; fan the latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expression. He must search out controversy and issues, rather than avoid them, for unless there is controversy people are not concerned enough to act. . . . An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent.'" --SAUL ALINSKY

"The qualities Alinsky looked for in a good organizer were:

ego ("reaching for the highest level for which man can reach — to create, to be a 'great creator,' to play God"),

curiosity (raising "questions that agitate, that break through the accepted pattern"),

irreverence ("nothing is sacred"; the organizer "detests dogma, defies any finite definition of morality"),

imagination ("the fuel for the force that keeps an organizer organizing"),

a sense of humor ("the most potent weapons known to mankind are satire and ridicule"), and an

organized personality with confidence in presenting the right reason for his actions only "as a moral rationalization after the right end has been achieved.'...
--Notes from an article by Phyllis Schalfly titled "Alinsky's Rules: Must Reading In Obama Era," posted at www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=318470857908277 (2-2-09)

"Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage." --SAUL ALINSKY

"An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent... He must create a mechanism that can drain off the underlying guilt for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time. Out of this mechanism, a new community organization arises....

"The job then is getting the people to move, to act, to participate; in short, to develop and harness the necessary power to effectively conflict with the prevailing patterns and change them. When those prominent in the status quo turn and label you an 'agitator' they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function—to agitate to the point of conflict." --SAUL ALINSKY, RULES FOR RADICALS, p.117

I found this message in my e-mal this morning:

Disturbing text from this youtube channel:

the usa, israil and their supporter are the biggest terrorists on universal and death for israil.the hamas military are fighter not terrorists and we support them... we are against the all sionizm not against the innocents people who lives on universal , the sionizm is against all the innocent people on universal... we are against racialism , the sionist people doing racism against black people .. İSRAİL İS A SİONİST GOVERNMENT ...

Someone should investigate this individual. I expect someone to do so. I've lost my patience with the US government and its baffling attitude toward Muslims and immigrants in the US. Holder won't admit that the New York terrorist is connected to Islam. Holder has not yet read the new Arizona law, yet, he spent the weekend lambasting it.

Are you a Muslim, Campbell Brown?

I tried to post this rant on CNN, in reference to Campbell Brown's interview with Rev. Franklin Graham. She became more and more incensed as the interview progressed. Anger filled her face as she behaved rudely and impolitely with Rev. Graham. I make no apology for my anger in this post. Hatred for Christians is on the rise in America, where 80% of its people believe in God and Jesus Christ. It would behoove people like Campbell Brown to refrain from insulting and alienating that 80%. The ratings at CNN, MSNBC, and all the other cable news networks are already eclipsed by those at Fox News Network.

Are you a Muslim, Campbell Brown? You were visibly angry in your interview with Rev. Franklin Graham. I mean you really got hot with him over his statement that Islam is evil. I never knew you were such a fan of Islam. Rev. Graham remained calm, collected, and polite and treated you with respect, as a gentleman should.

Ever read the Koran, Campbell Brown? If not, how the hell do you know that Islam isn't evil. Ever read the history of the Ottomans? If not, you should. Under the leadership of evil and insane men, the injunctions of the Koran are dangerous and deadly.

"Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends." (Surah 5:51)

"...make war on the leaders of unbelief...Make war on them: God will chastise them at your hands and humble them. He will grant you victory over them..." (Surah 9:12-)

"Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]...until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued." (Surah 9:27-)

"Prophet make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home." (Surah 9:73)

"Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them." (Surah 9:121-)

"Muhammad is God's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another." (Surah 48:29)

Oh, I really like the parts about slave-girls. Can I have one or two or three slave-girls, Campbell Brown? The Koran says it's okay Campbell Brown. I want you as my slave-girl Campbell Brown, because I don't want a slave-girl who's too bright.

Blessed are the believers...who restrain their carnal desires (except with their wives and slave-girls, for these are lawful to them)...These are the heirs of Paradise..." (Surah 23:1-5-)

"You shall not force your slave-girls into prostitution in order that you make money, if they wish to preserve their chastity." (Surah 24:33-)

The Fall of Constantinople was the capture of the capital of the Byzantine Empire which occurred after a siege laid by the Ottoman Empire, with an army numbering 80,000 to 200,000 men, under the command of Sultan Mehmed II. The city was defended by an army of 7,000 of whom 2,000 were foreigners. The siege lasted from Thursday, April 5, 1453 until Tuesday, May 29, 1453 (according to the Julian Calendar), when the city was conquered by the Ottomans. This battle marked the end of the Byzantine Empire, an empire which had lasted for over 1,100 years. The city's fall was a massive blow for Christendom. Pope Nicholas V ordered an immediate counter-attack, but his death soon after marked the end of the plan. Still think Islam is a peaceful religion? Muslim radicals want to conquer the world! Islam is evil because evil, insane men live by the hateful words of the Koran, Campbell Brown.

Are you alright with the Mao Zedong orb hanging on the White House Christmas tree (2009)? Are you an atheist? If you are, why not admit it to your TV audience? Larry King admits he's an atheist.

The reason you---CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, and MSNBC are losing audience is because we don't like you as people. You're arrogant, conceited, mean-spirited, anti-Christian, pro-Muslim, and are just generally repulsive.

You won't do your work and try to sift through the rubble of lies and falsehoods, for the truth as Glenn Beck does. Where were you on the ACORN fiasco? Where were you when the black militants stood on the stairs with blackjacks in hand, intimidating voters, at one of the voting locations, in 2008? Is it too much to ask that you also report the evil deeds of blacks and Muslims, in addition to the evil deeds of white, conservative, Christian men?

What in the hell does piss you off Campbell Brown, other than Christians and conservatives? What is it about wanting to save the lives of unborn children that really irks you? What is it about the Ten Commandments that really piss you off? I'm puzzled. Seems to me you support pornography, in the name of free speech. Seems to me the torture of others is fine with you if it's carried out under a good ol' dictator like Castro or Saddam Hussein. But if it's in Dubai, that's bad; and George Clooney grabs a camera to film a documentary about it. Damn! Liberals are very selective about who they want to live or die---at least that's the way it appears, Campbell Brown.

Please allow me to explain something to you. I'm not sure Jesus rose from the grave; and I'm not certain that God exists, (however, intuitively; I believe both), but I can tell you this with certainty: I'd rather spend my time with a happy, down-to-earth, intelligent, good ol' Christian any day, rather than wasting it with a sour-faced, I'm-the king-of-the-world, self-absorbed, arrogant-twit non-believing, arrogant ass, such as yourself. Can you tell that I'm angry, Campbell Brown? Can you tell that I'm fed up to here with your liberal hate for Christians?

I'm sick to my stomach of smart asses like you who prefer Islam over Christianity. You see no evil in anything but Christianity. Have you talked to any Islamists about the death threats to the creators of South Park? Mr. Graham's comment burns your ass, but threats of death to the writers of South Park doesn't raise your blood pressure?

Don't you realize that you and the rest of the liberal media have turned into the evil atheists/communists/socialists/Marxists, that James Cagney, Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, and many other actors fought and killed in the movies a few decades ago. You guys are now the evil tyrannts portrayed in the old black and white movies of the 30s, 40s, and 50s. But you don't see it do you? You don't see yourself for what you are: Ayn Rand Objectivists, Marxists, atheists, communists and socialists---a threat to the very existance of us all. The villains of those movies were power-seeking, power-grabbing individuals and groups who had no religion.

People with no religion make up their own rules. And people, like Saul Alinsky, with no religion , who praised Satan as a radical, are not restricted by moral biblical injunctions, Christian beliefs and teachings; they do any damn thing they want to do to get what they seek and desire. I believe you must be a follower of Alinsky. I'm pretty sure Obama and his band of evil misfits are as well. I know some of them are.

When the heart, soul, and mind of Man is so far removed from Godliness and morality and consumed with pure evil, what makes you think Christians will not once again be covered in wax, tied to poles, and set ablaze!? What makes you think it's impossible Christians will be thrown into arenas again, where lions will tear the flesh from their bones, for the meer enjoyment of men and women, who have no soul, no heart, no compassion, and no remorse? What makes you think gold fillings will not once again be hammered from the teeth of dead, rotting Jewish corpses, piled high outside of gas chambers?

Eighty per cent of Americans believe in God, probably because, like me, the world seems desolate and mean enough as it is. We must believe there's more to life than lifeless, self-righteous, Christian-hating liberals. Liberals seem to enjoy nothing but themselves and their self-promoting, self-aggrandizing causes that make them feel noble in some way. The rest of us want you to leave us alone. We don't want to hang out with you because you're boring as hell. You're humorless and sour it seems, for the most part. Just stay the hell out of our lives, beause if you don't, someday there will be a revolution like you've never imagined. People don't want to be told what to say, what to do, what to eat, what to drink, and what to believe in. We're tired of the government pissing all over the people, wasting our tax dollars, and stealing the country blind.

You really could take a lesson from the late Tim Russert and practice humility and and be objective for a change. I know you liberals think you are the only intelligent creatures on the planet, but that attitude is what leads elites to destruction. Nazis and Fascists are elitists. Look what the tyrannical ways of Nazi Germans and Italian Fascists did for them.

You hang on to the hem of Obama's garment and you'll be out of work before the fire dies down. If Obama bankrupts this country, it will be consumed by fire. You, I, and Obama will all be consumed by it. What's happening in Greece is a campfire compared to the holocaust that will consume this nation. When Obama and his cohorts have taken away everything we own---our families, our homes, our jobs, our peace, and our sanity---we will have nothing else to lose. Maybe then you'll find yourself appealing to a higher power for safety. Allah be with you, Campbell Brown. If Allah don't hep ya. Pray to Jesus; you won't have nuthin' ta lose.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

TEMPEST AT DAWN By JAMES D. BEST

Book Review by Allen Ball
For Beaufort Observer Online
http://www.beaufortobserver.net/

Why have we not thought of humbly applying to the Father to illuminate our understandings? During the war with Great Britain, we prayed daily in this room, and our prayers were graciously answered. Have we forgotten that powerful friend? Do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? If a sparrow can't fall without his notice, can we raise an empire without his aid? If we don't seek his guidance, governments will only be created by chance, war, or conquest. I move that clergy-led prayers be held in this assembly every morning. --BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, from TEMPEST AT DAWN, A Novel, by James D. Best, Copyright © 2010 James D. Best.

*****

At this critical juncture in time, in our nation, except for spirited tea parties, that are springing up across America, I find little to inspire hope and confidence that I our nation will rise above and survive its current radical upheaval. However, I find hope and confidence in the wonderfully written Tempest At Dawn, by James D. Best. I would have written this review ealier if not for all the highlighting I did, on almost every page. In his novel, Mr. Best sheds light on another critical juncture of our nation---a time when it was neccessary to revise the Articles of Confederation or write a new constitution. He does it with eloquence. I wanted to read Tempest At Dawn, from cover-to-cover, after reading the first couple of pages. I'm a great admirer of our Founding Fathers, which made Tempest At Dawn all the more difficult to put down.

After battling the British for eight years and winning it's independence, the United States stood on the precipice of dissolution. The instablity of the United States government threatened its very existence. Like a vulture, Europe was perched to pounce the fledgling nation at the first opportunity. The privileged elite plotted to overthrow the government. It was imperative that the United States create a stable government to avert these lurking dangers.

Fifty-seven delegates convened in Philadelphia, in 1787, for what was known as the Federal Convention, to hammer out a document to provide the means to maintain a durable, strong, and lasting government. It was the goal of these men to create a strong national government, while maintaining state sovereignty. Slavery was another issue that posed a major problem as well.

As I read Tempest At Dawn, I felt as though I was present at the proceedings of the Convention and the private and secret meetings of James Madison, George Washington, Robert Sherman, and others. You cannot help but feel pride as an American, as Tempest At Dawn reminds us of the seemingly impeccable integrity of our Founding Fathers---George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and James Madison, to name a few. The words "protocol" and "etiquette" come to my mind, while reading how they and the delegates of the Federal Convention regarded one another with utmost respect and civility.

Our Founding Fathers have been maligned and denigrated in recent years by liberal press and others with a progressive agenda. If you want to know the truth about the character of those gentlemen and you want to learn about the evolution of one of the greatest documents ever created by man---the Constitution of the United States---relax in your bed, favorite chair or recliner, and enjoy Tempest At Dawn, by James D. Best.
