IF IT’S MUNDANE, IF IT’S ORTHODOX, IF IT’S OLD-FASHIONED----MOST LIBERALS SEEM TO HATE IT

IF IT’S MUNDANE, IF IT’S ORTHODOX, IF IT’S OLD-FASHIONED----MOST
LIBERALS SEEM TO HATE IT

I just watched Barbara Walters’ [Baba Wawa] TV “Special”: “Barbara Walters Presents The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009”. No. 1 on the list was Michelle Obama. Surprise! I thought Walters was going to choose the all-knowing, all-seeing, approval-rating dropping, Barack Obama.

Walters, known for her gravitas in interviewing celebrities, asking piercing questions as: “If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you like to be?”, continued that line of questioning, by inquiring about Michelle’s arms. You’ve heard, I suppose, of the hoopla about Obama wearing sleeveless apparel. Thank God we have someone like Walters to delve into these matters. Lookit. Who wants to know about Michelle Obama’s profound admiration for Van Jones, the Communist czar in her husband’s administration. And who really cares about her thoughts on Anita Dunn’s admiration of one of the world’s greatest mass murderers of all time, Mao Tse Tung. These people and other bizzaro radicals surround Obama and wield much influence in government, but Baba Wawa found Michelle’s arms more vital for discussion.

Some other celebrities on the show were Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Sarah Palin, and Glenn Beck. Lady Gaga shocked viewers this year with her underwear apparel in her performances. She admitted that she’s had sex with women. Adam Lambert, a prissy, ultra liberal, über arrogant, talented performer and singer shocked TV viewers on this year’s American Music Awards program, by shoving a band member’s head into his crotch and then proceeded to give an impassioned kiss to a male band member. Sarah Palin was Sarah Palin---still representing decency, old-fashioned values, and the common man and woman in America. She didn’t resort to stripping down to a thong to generate attention. Glenn Beck was successful in routing a Communist czar from the Obama administration and a czar who praised the Hugo Chavez revolution in Venezuela.

Of her 10 guests, Beck and Palin received the coldest reaction and most disdainful attitude from Walters. Does that surprise anyone? Like Brian Williams with Barack Obama, Walters fawned over Michelle Obama like a star-struck teeny-bopper. What in the kiss-my-grits did Michelle Obama do to deserve the dubious distinction of being chosen as the “Most Fascinating Person of 2009”? She didn’t lead our soldiers into combat in Afghanistan. She didn’t stop speeding cars on cold rainy nights to face the possibility of having a pistol unloaded into her body. She didn’t have a leg or arm blown off in combat. In the true spirit of sacrifice, she and her husband have dutifully hosted countless celebrities and exhausting fancy dinners at the White House countless numbers of times.

How insignificant Walters has made herself to be. What a clown! What a sellout! What a silly shadow of her former self she has become. In an effort to appear modern and hip to her public, Walters has stooped to the level of her co-hosts on The View. Every time she and the other hosts of the show speak they weaken the nation.

I was a fan of Walters once; it ended with the Rosie O’Donnell debacle and her autobiography, in which she aired her dirty laundry about an affair with a married man.

My favorite celebrity is George Clooney. And although I may criticize him in my column because of his extreme political views, I admire the man. I appreciate the way he has tried to restore a semblance of old-fashioned class and dignity to the much maligned movie industry. On the other hand, he represents the extreme liberalism of Hollywood. I’m disappointed, too, that in a couple of his movies, he used the “F” word more often than I pass gas after eating Bojangle’s spicy rice.

The point I hope to make is that liberals despise the mundane, the orthodox, the old-fashioned. They are drawn like a moth to the light of the odd, the bizarre, the eccentric--no matter how offensive it may be to common decency. To many liberals, religion and morality are an encumbrance to the enjoyment of the these pleasures. They ignore the spiritual wisdom of the ages. Senator Mark Sanford and Tiger Woods are recent examples of conservative and liberal individuals whose lack of discipline and restraint have tainted their reputations by engaging in extramarital affairs. Like Bill Clinton, John Kennedy, and Ted Kennedy, wealth, fame, adulation, and attractive wives failed to satisfy these men. They wanted more than a mundane existence as good and faithful husbands, sons, brothers, fathers, and servants of the people.

What is the difference between them and you and me? Opportunity for one thing. Temptation is another. Celebrities are burdened with it more than most of us. One big difference is that many of us man-up to the situation: we simply do not succumb to temptation. But the biggest difference is this: We know that, for the good of all things, order must be maintained. The very universe in which we live is a testament to that cosmological truth and reality. We know, for example, that the existence of the traditional family is inherently necessary and superior, for the maintenance of civility and harmony in society, compared to dysfunctional families in disarray and constant conflict. We know the negative, destructive effects on children of living in broken homes or homes where anger is the chief, chosen mode of expression.

There will always be people who lead empty lives without purpose who need and desire the antics of Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Adam Lambert to give fleeting meaning to their lives. Hopefully, there will always be those who out-number them, who will maintain balance, civility, harmony, and love in the world----enough to make the world livable and enjoyable. Currently, we are teetering on the precipice of world annihilation. We have apple butter-for-brains (excuse my euphemism) leaders like that Cary Grant-like leader of North Korea, Kim Dung Field, or whatever his name is. And we have the evilness and sartorial splendor of Mockmood Ididajob, of Iran, threatening to blow Israel off the face of the earth, with every other thought that emanates from his demented, satanic mind. And of course we have the “savior” of all mankind, Barack Hoocameandwent Obama, who is determined to emasculate the United States. Obama loves American mediocrity more than Tiger Woods loves blond, Caucasian sluts. He wants to level the world playing field and be the Karl Marx of earth and all mankind. Why else would a man do everything in his power to alienate most of his countrymen and even his own power base, thereby destroying his chance for re-election, unless, of course, he intends to be the leader of the new one-world government before the next election. For those of you non-thinkers whose intuitive powers ceased development in some über-liberal Ivey League university, and believe this is all nonsense, do yourself a favor and read up on Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Mussolini, and the jolliest of them all----that barrel-of-laughs jokester, Adolph “I like my Jews extra crispy” Hitler. Only Winston Churchill, of all the intellects (so-called) of the entire planet, had the intuitive power and smarts to see what Hitler was up to. You cannot play with your ipods all day and not know who the vice-president or Speaker of the House of the U.S. is and make any legitimate claim to superior judgment on world matters. So until you educate yourself on world matters and how the world actually operates, stop fawning over every “Obama” who comes along, stop siding with liberals and Hollywood “wanna be significant” actors just because you think it’s hip to do so.

How can anyone in his or her right mind believe that the values that made America the preeminent force of power and good will in the world are déclassé and useless, simply because they are mundane, orthodox, and old-fashioned? How can anyone believe, as Barack Obama believes, that the U.S. Constitution was ill-conceived? (I think he was ill-conceived). How can anyone with the brains of a muskrat not understand that, whether you believe in God or not, belief in, and adherence to, the teachings of the bible are necessary for any society to be its best, to inspire its citizens to love one another, to inspire its country to greatness, while maintaining its humbleness and humility? Are you wiser than all of our Founding Fathers lumped into one? Well, that’s what they believed.

You cannot, with any claim to intellect, take a verse from Leviticus, with which you disagree, and condemn the bible in its entirety. There is more wisdom in the bible than all of the other books of the world ever written. How can any sane person condemn a book in which the “mark of the beast” was prophesied over 2,000 years ago? For the record, most of the prophesies of the bible have already come to pass; and many signs point to a soon-coming Armageddon. The movie 2012, of 2009, was based on that supposition.

How can you watch soap operas on TV where young couples are under the sheets most of the time and not know that something is wrong in the world? How can you, with the pressing of a key, on your computer, watch---in your kitchen, bedroom, kids room, and living room--- people fornicating on the internet and not know that something is very wrong in the world? How can you watch the black man, on the news, caught on video beating the hell out of a 90-something-year-old white lady and not know that something is wrong in the world? How can you watch an arrogant, non-repentant gay singer yank a male band member’s head into his crotch on national TV and not acknowledge that something is wrong? How can you watch Sarah Palin vilified and Lady Gaga exalted in the liberal press? How can you, in every corner of a mall, hear young and old people loudly uttering profane language around 4-year-olds, and grandparents and not know that something is wrong in the world? How can you watch the greatest advocate of love, peace, forgiveness, and understanding----the church----castigated and not know that something is wrong with the world? How can you watch, mutely, as crosses----symbols of love and sacrifice----are systematically removed from the American landscape----and not know that something is seriously wrong in the world? How can you watch people watch, agreeably, as Obama surrounds himself with terrorists, profane ministers, anti-American, Mao Tse Tung-loving radicals, and not know that something is seriously wrong in the U.S. and the world? How can you go to the Inspirational cable channel, knowing that every time you do, you will most likely see a middle-aged, charlatan, with a dyed, black beard, holding his latest book in his microphone hand, always exhorting you to send $1,000 to him in an envelope, and not know that something is very wrong in the world? The answer is simple: a portion of the world’s population despises everything mundane, orthodox, and old-fashioned while the rest of the world’s population is satisfied with the mundane satisfaction and pleasures of raising a family, being faithful to one‘s husband or wife, and having faith in a God, that lifts us all above the sordidness innate in humanity.

As the most lovable late Bishop Fulton J. Sheen once said, being a mundane, orthodox, old-fashioned Christian is not easy; it is hard work. You should try it sometime.

I’ll see you in the by and by.
