GLENN BECK: THE “JOHN WAYNE” & “GARY COOPER” OF OUR TIME

Have you ever seen the movie “Dakota,” starring John Wayne? In it, as in many Westerns, there was a wealthy bad man, played by Ward Bond, who controlled the town. Word got out that the railroad wanted to run tracks through the land surrounding the town, owned by farmers. The railroad would pay good money for the land. So, bad guy (Ward Bond) tries to buy the land cheaply, from a few farmers who refused to sell. He tries to strong-arm those who refused to sell by burning their barns.

Enter the good guy, played by John Wayne. He becomes a representative of the railroad, which places a large sum of money in his possession, to offer a fair price, to the farmers, for their land. Wayne, facing the bad guys alone, is robbed of the railroad money given him. In the ensuing struggle to help the farmers and townsfolk, Wayne and his wife are both shot; and Wayne is beaten fiercely about the head and facial regions. Typical of townspeople in these situations, in these Westerns, they stand by, meekly, as the town is turned upside down by lawless marauders.

After the demonstration of violence, against the farmers, who resisted Bond, all of the farmers and their wives, facing the inevitable loss of their land, rights, and possibly their lives, acquiesce to the terms set forth by Ward Bond. Bond brazenly appoints one of his own henchmen as sheriff, to see that the terms of the agreement are kept.

Ultimately, Wayne saves the day. The townspeople, led by Wayne, band together to fight the bad guys. And win!

Watching the end of “Dakota,” I thought of the parallels of the situation in it to the situation our nation is currently ensconced. We have the bad guy, Barack Obama, attempting to wrestle control of America, from Congress, trying to sneak it into Socialism, through dishonesty, duplicity and deceit. You have the good guy, Glenn Beck, trying to save America, as we’ve known it since its inception, being attacked, without mercy. You have the townspeople--the people of America, who, up until the town hall meetings and tea parties--were standing idly by, watching as their homeland was being transmogrified. And you have the sheriff--Nancy “Chihuahua” Pelosi and her henchmen: members of Congress and the Czars.

Glenn Beck has been warning us, for a couple of years, of the impending economic disaster that looms above our homeland. He was right. No one listened. Now he’s trying to get our attention, again, concerning the machinations of Barack Obama and the henchmen of his administration, not excluding the self-serving, servile flattering, childlike, Obama-worshiping, fawning parasites of the liberal press. This time, people seem to be listening.

God bless all of you wonderful people who’ve been brave enough to speak your mind at town hall meetings. God be with you, as you weather the hateful barbs and arrows fired at you by the, oh, so dignified Nancy “Chihuahua” Pelosi and the, oh, so, righteous liberal press and the, oh, so, hate-filled liberal television broadcasters, like Jon Stewart, David Letterman, and Bill Maher. And what do they all have in common: they all appear to be atheists and Christian bashers. Especially Obama. Don’t take my word for it. He may not look or sound like them, but Glenn Beck is the “John Wayne” and “Gary Cooper” of our generation. Like Wayne and Cooper, in the movies and in real life, Glenn fights for the common man and common woman--the working man and working woman-- the farmers, grocery clerks, teachers, small business owners, dishwashers, janitors, bakers, waiters, waitresses, bus drivers, taxi drivers, and all others who live quiet lives of dignity, struggling to make ends meet… the common folk desiring to maintain the right to worship freely, speak freely, and, in general, live freely, unencumbered by high-minded government officials and social engineers.

God bless Beck. He is reviled by liberals. He is mocked by them. He is attacked by them. Yet, he forges ahead for the country he loves and the common man and common woman who occupy our great homeland. Because he has children that he cares for and adores, he knows that you, too, worry about your children, whom you love and adore. Like you and me, he is worried about the path America has taken under the guidance of Barack Obama.
Some spineless sponsors have ceased their sponsorship of his program. They are, in a sense, trying to encumber free speech in America. What other conclusion can be drawn by such behavior?

Glenn Beck and his researchers work diligently to uncover and report important information to the America public. Information that liberals of America refuse to disclose. We owe a debt of gratitude to Beck for doing his part to expose anything that may be injurious to America and its citizens. I urge you to support his television and radio programs by informing his sponsors that you appreciate Glenn Beck and the work he is doing. Tell them you buy their products to support his programs. Tell grocery managers and grocery cashiers, who stock their shelves with products of his sponsors.

Glenn Beck feels as though he’s awakened, terror-stricken, as I did once, as a child, on a pitch-black, moonless night, in an unfamiliar, foreboding, strange place. My brother and I were in bed, in fact, in the tiny bedroom, of my grandma and grandpa, Vaden and Addie Powell. It was in the fifties. They lived on the black-dirt street in Kinston, North Carolina, called French Lane. There were no street lamps within 1,000 feet of their home. So, when I awoke, in that bed, in the early hours of that morning, it was as though I’d suddenly been birthed into a universe of nothingness. I feel that way now. Nothing seems warm, familiar, and comfortable in America anymore.

After 61-years of living in a country where the majority of people confess to believing in God--Jehovah God--Barack Hussein (Yes, Hussein, it’s his middle name. I can call him by his middle name--Hussein! Hussein! Hussein!--he‘s taking our country down like the “Maine“) Obama is telling me and you that America is not a Christian nation!

General Motors contributed a large amount of money to Barack Obama’s campaign, so, in return, Obama screwed GM shareholders, giving GM the biggest chunk of remaining stock. Now he’s once again trying to salvage the company, which he took control of and is now owned by the U.S. government, by creating the amusing “Cash For Clunkers” program. It went bankrupt after only four or five days!

Despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, by citizens and politicians of Canada and Great Britain, the all-knowing Obama continues to claim the false benefits of his health care plan. He claims he’ll pay for the plan by cutting back waste in government. Well, then, he should start by canning Nancy “Chihuahua” Pelosi, Harry “Mister Excitement” Reid, Barney “Daffy Duck” Frank, Robert “I’m A Puppet” Gibbs, and all 44 Czars.

Never has an American President been surrounded by and the America government been infiltrated by a more nefarious, unlawful, un-Godly band of rascals as what is currently ensconced in Washington, D.C. and in the White House itself. Spokesman for the White House, Robert Gibbs, is nothing more than a grinning, lying, deceitful puppet of Barack Obama. Gibbs is the kind of guy parents have nightmares of--of their daughter marrying a first-class weasel. I wonder if he’ll still be grinning when President Palin replaces him with her new spokesman, in 2012.

Glenn, like most of us, is sick of the never-ending “latest cause“: global warming, the call for action on the situation in Dubai, the Green movement, the quest, by environmentalists, to halt the natural evolution of all life forms, such as dinosaurs, into non-existence. [Leave Mother Nature alone!]

Regular people want to be left alone to live their lives in peace. The greatest sin Obama is committing right now is not only the nationwide, but global, upheaval of the lives of everyone on planet. Thanks to his daily efforts to restructure America. people are afraid. They are uncertain. They are losing confidence in America. And, most importantly, they are losing HOPE in America itself.

Living with terrorists is bad enough, but now we live with the expunging of hope. Obama has turned everything so upside down that none of us knows what disaster looms on the horizon. He’s trying to render our faith powerless by declaring that America is no longer a Christian nation. Tell that, Obama, to the people in rest homes, and nursing homes, and death beds, whose only hope lies in the belief in the beneficence of God. Tell that to the rest of us, who, unlike you, do not vacation in million-dollar mansions. Tell that to the thousands of cancer-ridden people whose life hangs by a thread, whose only hope lies in the belief of miraculous, divine intervention. Rob them of their hope Obama! Rob them of their hope!

The greatest sin of an anti-Christian activist is the attempt to rob millions upon millions of people, living in the now and living in the future, of hope. If you are a Christian, as you say, Obama, you’re not behaving as one. Your attempt to put all religions on an even par is an insult to God and every Christian in the world---and every other religion in the world.

As Glenn Beck said, Obama, you’re attempting to right the wrongs of the “ages“. That’s a waste of time, man. Man was born in ignorance. He continues to realize his inhumanity and flaws and continues to correct them. It was only a fateful stroke of luck for us evil white folk that “white” became the color of choice many years ago. Otherwise, me and my kin would have had to use separate toilets, separate water coolers, and sit in the balcony, only, at the movie theatre, instead of millions of helpless and hapless blacks. But that’s life, Obama.

Your hope, Obama, like that of so many other politicians and Hollywood zeros lies in your desire for relevance, social status, wealth, and fame. When you find yourself on your death-bed, you, like one of my favorite movie stars, Steve McQueen, stricken with cancer, in the prime of life, will find yourself reaching out to God. In his last audio interview, McQueen talked about his relationship with the “Lord”. Now--Steve McQueen was tough, you ain’t tough, Obama. You only act tough. You’ll be crying and screaming, like a two-year- old on a rollercoaster when you face the grim reaper. Glenn Beck and I, Christians, will be glad to help you get in touch with the Lord when the time comes and you have one foot in the grave, because then your social status, wealth, and fame will not provide you any further comfort. In fact, like many, you may, at the end of life, discover that all the desires of the “flesh” and ego were all vanities and that the only things of real value in life are the love and goodness people shower upon one another as they travel, together, on the long, hard, despairing road of life .

John Wayne and Gary Cooper, through the magic of the silver screen, did, and still do, more to further the ideals of common decency, moral values, and virtues of America, than most politicians in the history of our nation.

Glenn Beck is the “John Wayne” and “Gary Cooper” of our generation. He is already kicking your butt, Obama. And we, the people, the backbone of the United States of America, will see to it that he is allowed to keep on kickin’ it.
